タイの人たちの愛国精神に感銘I was amazed how much Thai People love their countryI went to ailand in December to learn about agriculture in ailand, and also about the culture, people, and the climate of the country. I had been to Thailand before, but I did not learn much about ai culture on that trip, so I wanted to learn many things about ailand on this trip.I spent the first two days there with my host family. I learned about Thai cooking, the Thai language, animals in ailand, and ai culture. ai food is spicy and has a strong odor to it, so it took me some time to get used to it. I especially liked boiled rice and ai-style omelets. On the third day, we went to Bangkok Christian College (BCC). We went by bus from BCC to Chang Mai to see a rice polishing facility. e factory was very big and advanced. For example, there was a separator which separated bugs, pebbles, and other things from the rice, before it was polished. ere was a huge amout of rice just in this factory, and I could personally see that Thailand is one of the top rice-producing countries in the world. At the same time, I saw that a lot of rice was being used as animal feed, and I wondered why so much rice was being disposed of this way.On the fourth and fth days, we learned about ai culture at BCC. First, we saw ai boxing. I was surprised that there is a PE teacher who is a specialist in Thai boxing. In Japan, sumo is a national sport, but we don’t have special teachers for sumo, so I was impressed that they do in Thailand, and I thought that Japan should learn from this type of patriotism. I was amazed at the patriotism of ai people and their love and respect for the king. I could see this in the number of photos of and owers for the king in the city. On the sixth day, we went to a research facility and rice factory in Ayutthaya. There, they were studying about the smoothness and color of the rice, and in the factory everything was run by computer. e rice that we ate in this factory was the best of any rice we ate in Thailand. This was a result of their research and quality control.Rice farming in Thailand is large in scale and business oriented. As a result, they can produce a lot of rice and make a lot of prot, which they in turn use to do more research about rice. I thought that rice farming in ailand is a big success, and that Japan can learn from ailand about it. 　12月3日から11日まで、タイの農業、文化、人、気候に触れるため、特に農業について学ぶためにタイを訪れた。僕は以前タイを訪れたことがあったが、その時はあまりタイの文化に深く触れるような旅行ではなかったので、今回の訪問でタイについてたくさんのことを学びたいと思った。　タイ初日と２日目はホストと一緒に過ごした。その２日間の中でタイ料理、タイ語、タイにいる動物など、タイの文化を肌で感じることができた。タイ料理は辛く独特な臭みがかった匂いがするので最初は慣れなかったが、だんだん食べられるようになった。特にボイルドライスとタイ風オムレツが美味しかった。　３日目は、初めてバンコク・クリスチャン・カレッジ（BCC）へ行った。BCCから車でチェンマイの精米工場まで移動し、工場を見学した。工場はとても広く、様々な工夫が凝らされていた。例えば、精米する前の米から、共に混じっているゴミないし死骸、小石を正確に分けるセパレーターが設置されており、ゴミを精米機に入れてしまわないようにしていた。また、その工場だけでも凄まじい量の米が出荷されており、改めてタイが世界最大クラスの穀倉地帯であることを再認識させられた。しかし同時に、凄まじい量の米が捨てられ、家畜の飼料として使われているのを目の当たりにして、どうしてこんなにたくさんの米が廃棄されてしまうのか疑問に思った。　４日目、５日目はBCCでタイの文化に触れた。初めにタイの国技である「ムエタイ」を体験した。ここで驚いたのは、ムエタイ専門の体育講師がいたことだ。さすが国技と思ったが日本では相撲の特別講師などはいないので、タイと日本の国技への在り方、姿勢の違いには感銘を受けると同時に、日本が見習うべき愛国精神だと感じた。タイの人々はとても愛国心があり、特に国王への愛、尊敬がすごかった。町中に国王の写真と共に沢山の花が手向けられたことがそれを物語っている。　６日目は、アユタヤのタイ最大の米企業の研究室と工場へ行った。そこではコメの滑らかさを色などで研究していて、工場でのコメ管理をすべてネットワークで行っていて、しっかりと管理されていた。この工場で頂いたコメはタイで食べたタイ米の中で一番美味しかった。研究と徹底した品質管理の賜物だった。　タイの米農業は大規模な企業的農業を行っていた。そのおかげで大量生産やたくさんの利益を得ることができ、その利益を使ってさらにコメの研究ができていたので、タイはこのようにして米農業で成功を収めたのだと思った。日本が見習うべき良い模範である。２年Z2組　浦田　晃平Kohei Urata : StudentEXCELSIOR vol.18100
