“Glocal”. This word is a combination of “global” and “local”. It means having an international perspective while acting locally. I happened to think of this word as we landed in a far-away country, many of us for the rst time. I realized that the rst city we were in– Adelaide – was not the whole of Australia, and felt this more strongly when we were in Melbourne.When I go to a new place in Japan or another country, I tend to think that the place is representative of the entire country. Also I start to think that the things sold in a place show the character of the country, but then I think that I am being stereotypical, so I stop myself. What we see when we go to a new place is just people who are living out their daily lives. We need to keep this in mind, and not make unreasonable generalizations.Returning to my earlier theme, I think that it is certain that this “glocal” perspective will become increasingly important in the future. However, I can’t say what concrete action should be taken. I strongly hope that the students who took part in this program will take a lead in taking such action. ey were bewildered at first in Adelaide but managed to adapt, so I think that they will be able to take “glocal” action. Finally, I would like to thank everyone who was involved in this program for all that you did.　「グローカル」という言葉があります。「グローバル」と「ローカル」を組み合わせた言葉で、世界的視野を持ちながらそれぞれの地域視点で行動するといった考え方です。　今回、多くの生徒が初海外（私も例外ではないですが）という中、かの地に降り立つにあたり、ふとこの言葉が頭をよぎりました。それは「アデレードもオーストラリアの一部であって全体ではない」という意識が影響していると思います。また、そういった意識は最終日に「メルボルン市内観光」をする際、ますます強くなりました。　私は国内にしろ海外にしろ、ついつい、訪れる土地をその国（県）のすべてと考えてしまいます。あるいは、その土地で売っている商品はその土地固有のものかもしれない、こういう性格のお国柄だから—いま、こういった言い回しは不適当かもしれませんが……—など。自分たちが出会っているのは、今そこにいる方たちは、その土地に根を下ろし、暮らしているだけなのだ。こういった考えを持ち、むやみに一般化してはいけないということを今更ながらに実感した研修となりました。　最初の話に戻りますが、このグローカルという視点が、今後の社会にますます求められていくのは論をまたないところだと思います。しかし、では具体的にどのような行動を起こせばいいのかと言われると、答えに詰まってしまうのは否めません。そのような中、本プログラムを経験した生徒たちはその先頭に立ち、リードしていってくれるのではないかという期待を大いに持たせてくれる動きでした。アデレードの地で行われたプログラムに最初は戸惑いながらも順応していった彼らに、グローカルという言葉が彼らを通して、具現化、実現していく心持ちがします。　結びに、本プログラムにかかわるすべての皆様へ、多くのご理解とご協力をいただきましたことに感謝を述べたいと思います。大変ありがとうございました。「グローカル」という視点"Glocal"２年Z1組引率教員　グレナンガ校担当　小西　周平Shuhei Konishi : Teacherグローバルリーダー育成研修Global Leader Training TripEXCELSIOR vol.18104
