but it was my rst trip outside of Asia, so everything felt so fresh to me. To tell the truth, I was nervous at first about going to an English-speaking country, and was worried about whether people would be able to understand my English. However, when I actually arrived, I was able to talk a lot using easy English. I realized that it is important to talk with others, and that your English does not need to be perfect. I only wish I had been able to better tell people there about Japanese culture and language. I felt that it is important to learn the language necessary to talk about one’s country. My biggest memory during the two weeks was my time with my host family. ey treated me as a member of their family as soon as I got there. My best memory was of my last day there, when there was a blackout because of a cyclone. We sat around a re and talked together about many things for two hours. We talked about our countries, families, and the future, and I really felt like I was a member of their family. I felt that it is important to say what you want to say, in order to get closer to other people. e two weeks went by so quickly, and I cried so much when we said goodbye. I have many more memories and experiences than I can write about, and I remember the beach and starry sky in Adelaide. I want to make use of this experience as I work towards my furture goal of working overseas.ら出るのは初めてのことで、五感で感じるすべてのことがとても新鮮に感じられました。正直、最初は英語圏ということが不安で、自分の英語が伝わるのか心配でした。しかし、いざ着いてみると、簡単な英語でたくさんの会話をすることができました。その時、完璧な英語でなくてもいいから、とにかく話しかけることが大切なのだと気づきました。しかし、日本の文化や言葉などを伝えるときには、表現するのが難しく、うまく伝えることができず、悔しかったです。せめて自分の国のことを伝える表現は覚えることが大切だなと実感しました。　この２週間で最大の思い出はホストファミリーとの時間です。着いてすぐ、私を家族の一員として接してくれて、すぐに打ち解けることができました。一番の思い出は最終日、サイクロンで全州停電になった日に、家族全員で火を囲んで夕食後2時間くらいたくさんの話をしたことです。お互いの国の話だけでなく、家族のこと、将来のことなど少し深い話もすることができ、心が打ち解けあい、本当の家族になれたのだと実感しました。心が打ち解けるようには、自分の言いたいことなどは（わがままにならない程度に）しっかり伝えることが大切だということも感じました。　２週間はあっという間で、最後の別れでは人一倍泣いてしまいましたが、レポートには書ききれないほどの沢山の思い出と、今後につながっていく沢山の経験を得ることができ、アデレードで見たビーチや星空などを思い出いながら、自分が将来目指す、海外で働くことにつなげていきたいと思いました。文化の相違と見てきたものCultural Differences and Things I Saw in AustraliaWe spent one week doing home stays in Adelaide in September. It was a precious experience. During this week, we went to Glenanga International High School, where we attended classes, talked with students, and saw their daily lives and a dierent culture.I stayed with the family of a student of this school, and I went to school with her every day. We went to school by train and bus. On the train, we used metro cards to pay for our rides – instead of buying a ticket first – and this saved time. We were also able to use the metro cards for the bus, 　私たちは９月16日に日本を出発し、17日からの１週間、オーストラリアのアデレードでホームステイをするという貴重な体験をしてきました。また、その１週間の間アデレードのグレナンガハイスクールへ通い、同じ年代の学生たちと授業などのプログラムを通じて交流することで、彼らの日常や日本とは違った文化を垣間見ることができました。　私のホームステイ先はグレナンガ・ハイスクールの生徒さんのお宅だったので、ホストバディとして毎日一緒に登校しました。通学には電車とバスを使ったのですが、日本と違って電車に乗るときに切符を買うことはなく、メトロカードと呼ばれる２年Z1組　山本　遥Haruka Yamamoto : StudentReports by Students of the Global Leader Training TripEXCELSIOR vol.18107
