受けるとなると想像以上の不安に押しつぶされそうになりました。現地のクラスの授業を受け、最初の頃は先生や友達が話している英語もまったく聞き取れず、課題に書かれている英語ですら理解できませんでした。そんな時私が諦めずに毎日の授業を乗り越えられたのは、現地でできた友達のおかげでした。私は結構な人見知りで、留学当初は日本人に声をかけるのも緊張していて、なかなか声をかけることができませんでした。現地で一番仲の良かった友達はタイ人の女の子でしたが、皆と同じように英語が私よりもはるかに上手で、毎日のように英語で分からないところを教えてくれて、常に援助してくれました。初めは自分から積極的に話すこともできなくて、面倒くさがり屋の自分でもこの１年間の留学の中でずいぶん成長できたと感じています。自分から行動しなければきっとオーストラリアにいる友達は作れなかったし、日本に帰りたくないと思うことはなかったでしょう。現地の生活では楽しかったことよりも辛かったことのほうが明らかに多かったのですが、日本に帰国してオーストラリアでの生活を振り返ったり友達と連絡をとったりすると、全部がとてもいい思い出だったと改めて感じています。　オーストラリアの学校では授業の仕組みや受け方が日本とは大きく異なっていて、基本はパソコンのみの授業でした。授業も生徒が自分で選択するような大学のような授業で、大半が自分たちの次の授業のために教室を移動することが常でした。私の通っていた高校では留学に来ている生徒たちに対して、現地の生徒たちが課題を助けてくれるような放課後学習の時間が設けられており、課題も終わらせることができて、なおかつ現地の子と会話する機会を得ることができ、とても充実した時間を過ごすことができました。　今回の留学を通して私が成長できたと思うところは「自分から積極的に行動して発言できるようになった」「失敗を恐れないようになった」「自立心が身についた」ことの３つです。これらの成長を今後の国際フォーラムや資格取得、大学受験に大いに生かしていきたいと思います。　最後に、今回の留学は自分の周りにいる保護者や先生方のサポートのおかげで、海外で勉強できる環境を頂いたので、今後も感謝を忘れずに日々精進していきたいと思います。understand what the teachers were talking about and what should I do for my assignments. However, I got through this study abroad by my friend’s assistance. My ai friend who helped me every time is really good at English, the same as the Chinese students. I think I have grown a lot as a person in this study abroad. If I hadn’t take any action in my life in Australia, I could not have made friends and I would have thought ‘I want to go back to Japan’. All experiences that I did were not easy, sometime easy sometime so hard, but always hard. I am keeping in contact with my friends and my host family sometimes. I miss them now. e curriculum of the school was very dierent when I compare Japanese school and Australian school. Basically, students in Australia use their laptop and only sometimes use their notebook and pen. Also students have to choose which subject they want to study and students move to their next class like university. Glenunga International High School has an ‘International connect program’ that helps international students who need help with their assignments. I was in this program, and I had really good time. Ways that I have grown from this study abroad are ‘I take action more easily than before I went’, ‘I have had a spirit of self-reliance’ and ‘I will not be afraid’. I would like to use these skills to getting qualifications for university. Finally, this study abroad was a success because of my teachers and parents.
