れを日々の生活の中でまさに体現します。彼らは現地の地域社会の中で、日本文化を広めるための努力を惜しみません。戦後、世界の様々な場所で、企業人として働く先人たちが礼儀正しく誠意を持って仕事に勤しむ日本人像を作り上げてきたように。その好ましい姿勢は、すべて日本社会の中で培ってきたものです。この姿勢が、諸外国の地で尊重され輝きます。日本人がとても大切にされ、自分たちの貢献にたくさんの感謝が示されることで、国際貢献したいという気持ちに火が点きます。しかしながら、帰国と同時に環境が変わり、大学受験がメインとなる日本の高校生活に入ることで、まるでそうした機会を失うかのように感じることもあるようです。この彼らの強い積極的な願いと培った力を再び発揮する場が、CHUO国際教育フォーラムなのです。しかも、それまでに体験したことがない規模で。そうした様々な体験を通して、ICET卒業生の彼らは、各々にできる国際貢献を見つけて、世界に羽ばたく自分を目指していくことになりましょう。■実践型探究型のグローバル教育　いま世の中は、明日のことさえも確信をもって予測することが困難です。政治体制の急変、テロや国際紛争や環境問題等はその好例でありましょう。なかでも、IT技術は流通、通信、報道、運輸など従来の機能を日々新しいものとし、日常生活でさえも、IT機器と氾濫する情報に振り回されるような時代に突入しています。それでも、私たちは未来に向かって歩み、未知の世界に備えて、この瞬間にベストと思われる準備をしていかなくてはなりません。従来の積み重ねの知識だけでは到底対応できない時代に入っています。多様性を受容しながらも、多様性に惑わされてしまわないよう、次代を担う若者たちの中に、しっかりとした人間性の軸と、創造性、柔軟性のある姿勢を培う必要性が今までにも増して求められています。 だからこそ、知識で理解する異文化理解ではなく、MCHSのような実践型・探究型の国際教育交流が、より重要さと意味を持つものとなります。日本の私立高校のモデルとも言える「グローバル教育の北の牙城」として、MCHSの存在は今後ますます輝きを放つことになりましょう。with a growing acquisition of English, they come to realise the Australian students are actually passionately discussing topics. They are concerned perhaps all the skills they have learnt may not be utilized, and hence wasted. at is, until they get to take an active role in the MSCH’s annual forum.The world is changing so fast and so drastically that we are unable to determine what might happen tomorrow, let it alone the longer-term future. Yet, as educators we have a duty and responsibility to prepare young people for that future. Accumulated knowledge was once useful but that is not so much the case anymore. What young people now need is to develop integrity in themselves as a person, clear values to stand by, creativity to solve emergent problems, flexibility to face new situations, strength to take on challenges, and a willing and compassionate heart to understand other people. These skills will enable them to be versatile across a wide range of diverse situations yet also be able to stand strongly and independently. Where do they practise and gain these qualities?
