私がフォーラムで果たした役割次世代に伝わるフォーラムTo Further Develop For the Forum for the Future３年Z1組　フォーラム実行委員小西　優汰Yuta Konishi :Student Forum CommitteeMy name is Yuta Konishi, and I was the leader of the “Disaster Prevention” group. Our goals at this forum were to create a forum for future students and to work together as a team.Our biggest reason for choosing “Disaster Prevention” as our theme was that it has been 5 years since the big earthquake in Japan. We thought that this would be good opportunity for high school students from around the world to discuss how to deal with future disasters. We wanted think broadly and globally about what role high school students can play in the area of disaster prevention.We tried hard to communicate with students from our sister schools, and supplemented our English with graphs and gestures. During our presentation, we had students from each of the 6 countries on our team stand on stage, and used a format like that of the United Nations. We were able to express our feeling that “Disaster Prevention is a problem not limited to just one country, but rather a problem that needs to be addressed by people from the entire world”.One thing that was not good about our presentation was that we did not translate the entire power point presentation into Japanese. The presentations were in English, so the Chuo students could not understand them. We were not able to translate everything into Japanese because we it was dicult to nish preparing our presentation in the limited amount of time. e Japanese students were the only ones who couldn’t communicate in English when we talked together, so our meetings did not go smoothly.What I learned in this forum is that it’s more important to have a clear objective and to work towards it, than to spend time planning. So, I want students in the future to spend more time setting objectives and working towards them than on planning. I hope that what we did will be of use for students at future forums.　こんにちは。「防災」チームのリーダーの小西優汰です。私は今回のフォーラムの中で「次世代に伝わるフォーラム」『チーム全体で作り上げるフォーラム』を行うことを目標とし、活動してきました。　今回テーマとして「防災」を選んだ一番のきっかけは、東日本大震災から５年経ったということでした。大きな被害を受けた日本にとって、これから起こる災害に対しどう対処していくべきかを、世界の高校生の視点で話し合うことは必要な機会であると考えました。そのため、私たちは「高校生が果たすべき防災への役割を世界規模で話し合い、未来の防災へのビジョンを拡げていく」ということをゴールとして、フォーラムに向けた活動を始めました。　姉妹校生徒との交流の際には、図やジェスチャーを用いて英語で伝えきれない情報を補い、積極的な交流を試みました。また、プレゼン方法において工夫したことは、チームの内の６カ国の代表全員がステージに立ち、国連会議ふうの形式で発表することでした。それぞれの国のプレゼンを一つにまとめることによって、「防災は一つの国に限る問題ではなく、世界全体で対策すべき課題である」ことを発信することができました。　反省点として挙げられるのは、発表のパワーポイントをすべて和訳化できなかったことです。発表時に話す言葉が英語であるため、見ている生徒が発表内容を理解できないということは、今までのフォーラムの中でも大きな課題でした。限られた時間の中で姉妹校生徒たちのプレゼンを一つにまとめることは容易ではなく、今回も和訳が間に合いませんでした。また、初めて姉妹校生徒と合流した時、初めのうちは日本人生徒だけが英語でのコミュニケーションについて行けず、ミーティングが思うように進まなかったことについても反省する余地がありました。　私は今回のフォーラムを通して、自分たちが成し遂げたいことのプランを立てることよりも、何を実行するかを明確にし、それをすぐに行動に移すことが大切であることを学びました。ですから、私はこれから新しいフォーラムを作っていく皆さんには、プランの製作には余裕を持ち、目的を絞っていく時間、行動し結果を積み重ねていく時間をより多くとっていってほしいと思っています。そして、皆さんが残していく結果が次のフォーラムに生かされていくことを期待しています。EXCELSIOR vol.1884
