　　The world is changing so fast that we cannot determine what might happen tomorrow. As educators we have a duty and responsibility to prepare young people for that future. They have to have clear values to stand by, creativity to solve various problems, flexibility to face different situations, and a compassionate heart to understand people. Where to practice and gain these qualities? The Forum is one of the best places for them to take an active role, to collaborate on projects, to learn from each other, and to experience cultural diversity.　　The Forum has been very signicant and important in becoming a leading and well working model for global education.祝　辞Congratulatory Message　教員は、若い生徒に、人生において成功するための「道具」を用意しなければならない。フォーラムはそういう「道具」を使うことを習得する場である。フォーラムを通して、他者と協力し、活発で、寛容で、好奇心を持った大人が、未来のリーダーたちの間での重要な関係を構築するのだ。私たちは、グローバルな問題に対処できるリーダーを育て、世界を舞台にして活動できる若者たちをつくっていく必要がある。　若者たちがお互いを知り、関係を構築しようと努力している姿を見ることは、感慨深いことである。　世界が変わっていくスピードは非常に速く、明日、何が起こるのかさえも予想するのは難しい。教育者として私たちは、そのような中でも、若者たちの将来に責任を持つ義務がある。彼らには、明確な価値基準が必要であり、様々な問題に対処できる独創性、多様な状況に対応できる柔軟性、そして他者を理解する広い心をもっていなければならない。どのような場所で生徒にそのような資質を培うことができるのか。フォーラムは生徒が積極的に参加し、協力し、相互に学び合い、文化の多様性を経験する最適な場の一つである。　フォーラムはグローバル教育の最前線を行く例として、非常に重要なものとなっている。Appreciating Diversity and Building ConnectivityAdrian Danker Principal of St. Joseph's Institution多様性の奨励および、国境を越えて絆の構築セント・ジョセフズ・インスティテューション　校長　エイドリアン・ダンカー　第20回CHUO国際教育フォーラムに参加することで、世界から集まった若者が日々の出来事、成長への思いや、将来に対する希望などについて、思い分かち合うことがどんなに大切かを改めて実感いたしました。ディスカッションをしていく中で、いかにして様々な違いを乗り越え、お互いの多様性を理解し感謝していく関係性を築き、共同体の社会をともに祝ってこうというみんなの強い思いを感じました。盛岡中央高校がこのフォーラムを毎年行っていることは素晴らしいことだと考えます。　帰国後シンガポールの学校に戻り、生徒たちが受けた恩恵を知り、日本のホストのみなさんのおもてなしや体験したすべてのことに深く感謝しました。私はフォーラムのイベントを通して活力を得ました。生徒や教職員に盛岡中央高校とその姉妹校との関係を築いていくことを勧めたいと考えております。今回のフォーラムに参加したほとんどの方が私と同じ考えを持ったのではないかと思います。フォーラムを主催された盛岡中央高校と龍澤学館に感謝の言葉をおくり、ご成功をお慶び申し上げます。　　The 20th CHUO International Forum helped me to appreciate how important it is to bring young people from around the world to share their present day experiences, their thoughts about growing up and their hopes for the future. In their interactions I witness the promise of how the world can overcome divisions and build bridges that connect and help us to understand and appreciate our diversity and to also celebrate our shared community. It is good that Morioka Chuo High School is committed to hosting this Forum annually. After the Forum, I returned to our school in Singapore renewed by what I learnt about the gift of students and refreshed by the hospitality of our Japanese hosts that deepened by my appreciation for all things Japanese. I am also re-energised by the whole Forum experience and I now want to encourage my students and teachers to build on our relationship with Morioka High and our sister schools. I believe many of us who came to the 2018 CHUO International Forum feel the same way.
