　私たちは『持続可能な発展目標SDGs』からヒントを得ながら、理想の学校づくりについて考えてみました。　私たちが選んだ１つめの目標は「質の高い教育をみんなに」です。私たちは、生徒たちがそれぞれ学習に対して興味を持ち、参加したいと思える教育をつくり、生徒たち自身がそれを管理することが必要だと思います。　　What are our goals in order to achieve quality education? 　　Our first solution would be to create a support center. This club will be student-driven and used to promote healthy mental and emotional health for students, by providing an avenue for struggling students to release out their feelings. This helps to provide emotional support to students who need help or are going through a tough time, to let them be assured that there is always someone caring for them so that they do not make any rash decisions.　これらの目標を達成するために、私たちは以下の3つのことが必要だと考えました。　1つめは、悩みを抱えた生徒が悩みを打ち明けることができるサポートセンターを作ることです。サポートセンターで悩みを打ち明けることで、生徒が自分のことを気にかけてくれる人がいるということを気付かせ、誤った行動をとらないようになるはずです。 　　We are also looking towards implementing more discussion-based lessons to improve the efficiency of the learning process. Oftentimes, education consists of only the teacher talking and this results in many students not paying attention or not fully understanding of a certain subject. For example, in New Zealand, the teacher presents a PowerPoint slide to the students and lets them discuss the chosen topic of the day. 　2つめは、教育課程の中にディスカッション中心の体験型授業を取り入れることです。ニュージーランドでは、教師がその日のトピックをパワーポイントにして発表したものを生徒にディスカッションさせ、生徒一人ひとりが意見を述べる場を与えています。　　Our third solution for this problem is to have students learn about important life skills, that prepare them in facing the real world. In many schools, we do not learn some crucial skills for independent living, such as cooking, cleaning, taxes etc. We propose that students come together to pick up some of these essential life skills during their education. For example, in Singapore, some schools offer a Home Economics class, where students are taught how to iron clothes or cook and do general household chores. This aids students in learning to be independent and self-reliant for the future.　　By encouraging a more conducive learning environment, these solutions fulfil our SDG’s Goal of providing quality education for every student.　3つめは、生徒が安心して自立するために役立つ大事なスキルを教えることです。現時点では調理、片付け、税金などのことを教える学校は多くはありません。シンガポールでは、生徒が自立して生きていけるように日常的な家事を教える授業を取り入れている学校が多くあります。　以上のように、生徒同士が協力し合えるような学習環境を作ることと、私たちが考えた解決策を掛け合わせることによって、質の高い教育の提供が実現すると思います。　　Another essential SDGs that we have chosen is the 10th one: to reduce inequalities within and amongst countries. In order to make a sustainable world, we must work together as one human race to improve the world and maintain sustainable development. Hence, by reducing inequalities, we will be able to present everyone with similar opportunities that encourage more cohesive communities.　私たちが選んだSDGsのもう1つの目標は、各国内及び、各国間の不平等を是正することです。　　Bullying is a prevalent issue today, where all youth can become targets of this terrible practice.
