　私のフォーラム ＊　 My Forumいました。文化の持つ力を示すことができ、幸せでした。あの瞬間を忘れられません。このような機会をいただき感謝しております。　　The trip to Morioka this time was a very unique and memorable experience for me especially when this year is the 20th Anniversary of the Chuo International Education Forum. I was impressed with a number of activities that were very meaningful as well as very well organised.　　Firstly, there was the Round Table Discussion that was facilitated by the Professor from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. This session offers a platform for the educators from MCHS and all the sister schools to share their views on issues close to their hearts and learn from one another. This type of opportunity is not easy to come by.　　Next, there was the School Cultural Festival. I was very impressed by the enthusiasm of the students in this whole school event and all the students’ effort that were put into organising the different booths, especially the haunted house which attracted such a long queue of people waiting to try it out.　　Last but not least, I really appreciate MCHS for going out of their way to include an authentic Japanese experience for us by bringing us all the way to try the Japanese Onsen in the mountains. It was certainly a very enjoyable and unforgettable cultural experience.　盛岡訪問は他では味わえない旅で思い出深い経験となりました。特に今年は20周年のフォーラムです。多くのイベントが問題なく運営されていて、そして有意義であり、感動いたしました。　東京海洋大学の小松教授をファシリテーターにお迎えした教員研修会では、姉妹校と中央高校の教員たちが互いに持つ問題について意見交換し、学び合う機会を提供していただきました。こういった機会を得られることはそう簡単ではありません。　そして、文化祭ではすべて生徒たちのやる気と努力に感動しました。それぞれがブースを出展していましたが、中でもお化け屋敷は人気があり、長い列で入場を待っておりました。　最後ですが、もっとも皆様にお伝えしたいことは、真の日本文化体験のために山の中にある温泉にお招きいただいたことに感謝申し上げます。本当に楽しく、忘れがたい日本文化体験となりました。　　Throughout this experience, I was exposed to the unique ideas and perspectives of people hailing from vastly different backgrounds, and I was able to learn more about how things are done in different environments and places. Thanks to the international students, I was introduced to fundamentally distinct methods of education, each with their own merits and disadvantages, and I was able to develop a more holistic view of education itself and the numerous other topics that were discussed. Due to my host family, as well as local students, being very forthcoming and inclusive, I was able to gain a deeper insight into Japanese culture that I would have never gotten otherwise as a mere traveller. With this exposure to such diverse perspectives, I hope that what I have learnt as well as the relationships that I have forged will continue to carry me throughout life ensuring I stay open-minded and not blind to the views of others as I pursue my dreams.
