This forum was an enriching and unforgettable experience, due to the many cultures I have been exposed to and many friends made along the way. The forum was organized extremely well, where students all around the world interacted smoothly and engaged in meaningful discussion on education in the future. My host family and students were extremely hospitable, taking excellent care of me for the whole week without any complaints. The affection that I have received will forever be ingrained into my heart. This opportunity to form lasting friendships with exceptional people is a major takeaway that shall be cherished. The school festival was also an integral part of this excursion, allowing me to immerse myself into Japanese school culture. The immense effort put in by students to decorate their stalls was amazing. It was touching to observe such unity between students and teachers to make the festival enjoyable for everyone. From the tea ceremony to delicious food, the festival gave us chances to taste authentic and delicious Japanese food too! Overall, through interaction with many different types of individuals and cultures, this forum has aided in my personal development and growth to become a global citizen for the future. On the day of the Forum when I was sitting and listening to them down stairs, I was so touched by the well-organized and creative presentation done by these international students. I am sure that through the preparation of the forum topic “Sustainable Development Goals – the Ideal School in 2030”, the students not only learned the UN’s issues of global sustainability but also did “see the world” and were able to figure out solutions to keep the global sustainability. Moreover, among the 9 days spending in Morioka, I was deeply attracted by the prosperity of the city and the antique and tranquil town scenes. Though the business buildings and tranquility of towns are totally different, Morioka people’s friendly smiles and hospitality shown everywhere never make any conflicts. Among the interactions with Chou faculty and staffs, I also observed the “long-term friendship” in Japanese culture which is hardly expressed in words. After each meeting, chatting, and meals, Principal Chiba and other executives tried to greet all international teachers from sister schools and tried to remember our faces by taking photos with us. At that moment when we stood together and took photos, I felt that they no longer took us as passengers in Morioka but rather treated us like friends with long-term friendship. My Wonderful Experience at Morioka Chuo High School盛岡中央高校での素晴らしい体験Taiwan台湾University of Kang Ning康寧大学Peikuo (Peggy) HuAssociate Professor /Business Administration経営管理学助教授Very Precious and Valuable Cross Cultural Experience in Morioka Chou High School盛岡中央高校における非常に貴重で有意義な異文化交流の経験EXCELSIOR vol.2048
