第10回 国際教育教員研修会The Roundtable Discussion on International Educationわれている。　「グローバル化した社会で活躍する若手人材を育てることは、世界共通の課題である。それは決して簡単なことではない。社会は迷走し、分断されている。極端な意見に影響を受ける若者も多い。そうした環境下で、教員は何を若者に伝え、どこに導いていったらいいのだろうか。その難題を一緒に考えるワーキンググループとして、フォーラムに集まった多国籍な教員グループを活用し、世界の教育現場で働く多くの同胞に向けて情報発信をしていきたい。」今回、教員研修会に参加した教員から繰り返し聞いた話を要約すると、実にこんな感じになる。この大きな期待に応えていくこと、それが今後のCHUO国際フォーラムの使命ではないだろうか。　さて今回の教員研修会では、あるリアルな社会的課題（タイ沿岸部におけるエビ養殖地の乱開発によるマングローブ林の崩壊について）をケースとして提供した。教科の壁を越えた複数の教員がグループとなり、学際的な探究型学習とフィールドワークのプログラム設計に取り組んだ。特定の専門知識やモノの見方だけでは、こうした難易度の高いグローバルイシューには到底太刀打ちできないことは明らかである。ゆえに、教員間の議論が次第に真剣味を増していったことが印象的であった。CHUO国際教育フォーラムの教員研修会に今後も期待したい。　　There are many events at the CHUO International Education Forum, but one of the most important ones is the teacher’s roundtable discussion. This is an opportunity for teachers from approximately 20 countries and regions to get together to train one another. It is almost like a G20 summit (an international forum bringing together governments of developing and developed countries, as well as finance ministers and central bank governors) . This roundtable discussion will surely hold the key to the future direction of the forum. It challenges us to think about what is the true value of international education at Morioka Chuo High School.　　How to educate young people to take action in today’s globalized society is a common issue for every country in the world. This is not an easy thing to do. Societies are in chaos and are divided. Many young people are influenced by extreme opinions. What should teachers tell young people in this environment and how should they go about educating and leading them? The teachers’ roundtable discussion can be a vehicle to address this issue. It gives participants an opportunity to share ideas with teachers from other countries and take what they have learned back to their home countries. This is a summary of what I heard from the teachers at the roundtable discussion this year. The mission of future forums should be to respond to this demand.　　At this year’s roundtable discussion, I used a real case study (destruction of mangrove forests on the coasts of Thailand, due to overdevelopment by shrimp farms). The teachers took part in a program of explorative learning, forming groups across subject areas in order to brainstorm lesson ideas from an interdisciplinary perspective. It is clear that difficult problems such as this cannot be dealt with using only specialized knowledge. Due to this, the discussion among the teachers became more and more serious as time passed – this was something that impressed me greatly. I have high expectations for future roundtable discussions.　CHUO国際教育フォーラムウィークには様々な取り組みが用意されているが、その中でも注目すべき重要な取り組みとして「教員研修会」がある。盛岡中央高校の姉妹校が約20カ国から集まり、多国籍の教員が互いに研鑽する機会である。まるで高校教師のG20（世界の先進国と新興国を合わせた20カ国による首脳会議や財務大臣・中央銀行総裁会議）のようである。第20回の記念大会を終えた今、教員研修会が今後のフォーラム発展のカギを握るに違いない。まさに今、盛岡中央高校の誇る国際教育の真価が問The Roundtable Discussion on International Education holds the key to futuredirection of the forumToshiaki Komatsu 小松 俊明 Professor at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology東京海洋大学　グローバル教育研究推進機構　教授今後のフォーラム発展のカギを握る国際教育教員研修会EXCELSIOR vol.2064
