3-month study abroad / A year study abroad３カ月留学プログラム／1年間留学プログラムOverseas school trip海外修学旅行In the R-course for admission to university, we have established a three-month program in addition to the program for one year from 2017. Because of the short term, students of other courses are also welcome to participate.進学留学Rコースでは、2017年から1年間プログラムに加えて３カ月プログラムを新設しました。短期のため、他のコースの生徒も希望によって参加可能です。The Canadian school trip includes visits to Victoria City, Vancouver City, etc., including homestay 3 days.Victoria city is a sister city relationship with Morioka city, and it has a close relationship with Dr. Nitobe Inazo.カナダ修学旅行は、ホームステイ3日を含み、ビクトリア市、バンクーバー市などを訪問します。ビクトリア市は、盛岡市と姉妹都市の関係にあり、新渡戸稲造博士との縁の深い街です。　　At our school, we focus on international education in order to produce future global leaders. Speci cally, we want students to have four qualities: manners and morality, a broad perspective, high academic ability, and liberal learning. 　　One of our programs we use to do this is the “global-leader” trip for advanced-placement students. The students on this program go to Portland and Seattle in America and to Adelaide in Australia for 10-14 days, where they study at language schools and high schools. It is the first time abroad for some of the students, and it is a very valuable experience for them. Some of the students go to Victoria, Canada, which is one of Morioka’s sister cities, where they do homestays, study on their own, and develop critical thinking skills. We are also considering sending students to Hawaii, the home of many Japanese-Americans.　　Our schools currently has 25 sister schools around the world. Every year, we send groups of students to 4 or 5 of these sister schools, where they meet people from abroad and study about a set topic. It is an opportunity for the students to learn about a new country, and for many of them it in uences their future path in life. 　　Our school has a long history of sending students abroad to study. Every year for 21 years now, we have sent students to places like Sydney and Adelaide in Australia, and Tauranga in New Zealand, on a 1-year study-abroad program. The students improve their English skills while doing homestays and studying at school, adapt to a different classroom environment, and learn how to clearly express their opinions. They become more proactive and independent over the year abroad and grow a lot as people. We also have short trips abroad for all of our students, as well as a 3-month study-abroad program for students.　　Finally, there is an opportunity for students to do eld work with students from sister schools, as part our Assistant Super Global High School program. Students can learn about the world through all of the above programs.グローバルリーダー人材育成をめざしてEducating Future Global Leaders　本校では、21世紀のグローバル社会を見据えて、４つの資質「礼節と徳育、広い視野、高い学力、深い教養」いわゆる人間力を兼ね備えたグローバルリーダー人材育成をめざし、国際理解教育を推進しています。　　その一つに、SZ・Zコースのグローバルリーダー育成研修があります。アメリカのポートランド、シアトル、オーストラリアのアデレードで10日～14日間ホームステイしながら現地の語学学校や高校に通い、体験と研修を深めるものです。海外デビューとなる生徒も多く、かけがいのない経験となります。　A・Bコースは盛岡の姉妹都市カナダのビクトリアを訪問し、ホームステイや自主研修で、「自分の目で見て、確かめる」ことを実践し、クリティカルシンキングを養います。行き先として、日系移民の多いハワイも現在検討中です。　本校は、現在世界の国と地域に25の国際姉妹校を持っています。国際姉妹校には、毎年4～5校に引率者と生徒3～4名を派遣し、友好を深めるとともにそれぞれの研修テーマに沿った現地でのフィールドワークにも取り組み、貴重な体験をします。未知の世界に足を踏み入れることになり、後の進路決定の大きな転機となった生徒も枚挙にいとまがありません。　本校の海外留学の歴史は古く、21年の長きにわたり毎年継続してオーストラリアのシドニー、アデレード、ニュージーランドのタウランガ等へ1年間の留学を実施しております。生徒は、ホームステイをしながら現地の高校に通い、英語のスキルアップはもちろんのこと日本とは違った授業の進め方にも対応し、自分の考えを明確に表現する力も培ってきます。何事にも自分の判断で行動できる積極性と自立の心を持って、大きく成長して帰国します。また、全コースの生徒が参加できる姉妹校との交換留学や3カ月の短期留学も設定しています。　SGHアソシエイト校の取り組みとして海外姉妹校との共同研究やフィールドワークの機会もあり、海外への道は大きく開かれています。Kenji Chiba Principal of Morioka Chuo High School盛岡中央高等学校・附属中学校　校長　千葉　研二EXCELSIOR vol.2068
