our lives. Recently, Collège Sainte-Anne organized a workshop on artificial intelligence in education that brought together people from the teaching, business and information technology communities. Specialists told us about their research into machine learning and educational robotics. At this event, we assembled a multidisciplinary community whose objective was to bring about change in artificial intelligence in education. And now the college is getting ready to welcome three Nao robots. Like the labour market, the educational playing eld is now global. The school has the responsibility to expose young people to a diversity of cultures and conceptions of the world. At Sainte-Anne, our students have cultural roots in over 20 countries. For 10 years, we have built a network of some 20 partner schools to encourage international exchanges for our students and teaching staff. I would also like to highlight the important role the CHUO Forum played in launching this network. It was at our first attendance at the Forum that the network’s foundations were laid. It’s just grown bigger and better ever since. Things to think about in the change of the 21st centuryWhen we talk about the challenges of the 21st century, we can’t fail to mention the environment. Climate change poses a major problem. It is affecting the balance of our ecosystems, whether you’re looking at the accelerated melting of the glaciers, the increase in oods or the amplied phenomenon of drought. In this regard, school must prepare young people to take on the challenges of an increasingly interdependent world. Our role is to sensitize them to the fragility of ecosystems, to the effects of human activity on their elements, to the protection of their balance and biodiversity.At Sainte-Anne, we are taking action to signicantly reduce our ecological footprint. For six years now, we have been holding two carbon-neutral days when students remain at home and ました。専門家は彼らの研究をロボットに覚えさせ、教育的なロボットを作る計画について話をしてくれました。　そのワークショップは、人工知能を導入して教育に変化をもたらすことを目標にしている様々な分野の専門家による学際的なグループをつくることが目的でした。その後、セント・アンでは３台のロボットを導入する予定でいます。　労働市場と同じように、教育現場はグローバル化しています。学校は生徒に多様性と世界の変化を教える責任があります。私たちの高校には20カ国以上のルーツを持つ生徒が在籍しています。私たちの学校は10年間にわたり、20校ほどの高校とネットワークを築き、教員、生徒間での国際交流を促進してきました。このネットワークを作るのに際し、CHUO国際教育フォーラムが重要な役割を果たしたことを強調したいと思います。フォーラムはセント・アン高校が、世界中の高校とつながるきっかけを作ってくださいました。私たちのネットワークは大きく広がり、前にもましてより良いものに成長しています。21世紀の変化の中で考えるべきこと　21世紀の変化について話をするとき、環境問題を切り離すことはできません。なかでも、気候変動は多大なる問題をはらんでいます。それにより生態系は影響を受け、氷河の溶解は加速度的に進んでおり、洪水が増えるなど、危機が拡大しています。　学校は、生徒にこれまで以上に相互に依存する世界へと移行する準備をさせなければなりません。私たちの役割は生態系のもろさ、人間の活動への影響、多様な生物の保護への関心を生徒に高めさせることです。 　セント・アン高校では、二酸化炭素を大幅に減らす取り組みを行っています。6年前から、年間2日間のCO²削減の取り組みをしています。そこでは、生徒が自宅でPCによる授業を受けることで通学にかかる二酸化炭素の排出を抑えています。この取り組みによって、１年でおよそ７トンのCO²削減に成功し、その削減量はモントリオールからシドニーの往復飛行分に相当します。　私が考える理想の学校は、生徒がクラス以外のどこででも学ぶことができる場があること、です。例えば“行動すること”によって学ぶ体験学習などがそれにあたります。それによって生徒たちは自分たちの住む環境や地域への影響を、深く理解することができます。生徒の学びに活動指針を与えるために、私たちはモントリオールや海外でのインターンシップを奨励しています。　今年、本校の生徒はインドネシアとセネガルを訪問しました。そこでソーラーパネルを設置したり、湖の周辺に安全柵を取り付けたり、ごみ処理の管理システムを改善したNew techniques such as AI (artificial intelligence)AI（人工知能）などの新しいテクノロジーEXCELSIOR vol.206
