French Mothers are given 16 weeks of maternity leave which is about 10 times the time allowed to fathers. Not only do women have to contend with a huge gap when they come back to work but also it doesn’t encourage fathers to invest their time in the family life. There is also the problem of the childcare centers’ unavailability. One parent, generally the mother, has to stay at home if she can’t afford a nanny. In Taiwan, the quality of worklife is poor: harassment at work is bad, bosses and managers harass a lot and women cannot speak up because of traditional thoughts, but this is changing and in many companies and there are now departments where women can report harassment. In the UK, a picture of the candidate is not put on the CV when applying for a job. This strict hiring process can stop discrimination by appearances. Women are treated respectfully by employees most of the time and there are procedures for reporting harassment. However there is no guarantee that women will feel comfortable using these or that they are very fair. In Korea, gender pay starts equal and gap increases with age largely due to maternity leave. About 70 percent of married women who were employed before their children's pregnancy said they had experienced career breaks since their children's birth. This is due to the difculty of working conditions in parallel with childcare and the company's unfair treatment of the use of parental leave. In Australia, the primary carer of a newborn child can receive up to 18 weeks of paid leave, this responsibility often falls on the mother. Dad and Partner Pay only allows for 2 weeks leave. Childcare in Australia is also very expensive, costing up to $200 per day for each child meaning that’ it is often cheaper and more economical for a parent to stop work or work part time.Quality of life and opportunity in the workplace is, as you can see, an issue all over the world, and not just for women. In 2015, 17.1% of sexual harassment cases reported to the EEOC were reported by males, and this number is increasing. Therefore, working towards a safer and healthier environment is of benet to everyone in society. But how do we achieve this equal and healthy environment? We came up with a couple of main solutions:Training programmes can be used to combat issues of sexual harassment in the work place. Training programmes could also help women returning to work after maternity leave by training them about changes in the industry and, for example, how to use the new technology, which could make companies more willing to employ these people.Building a structured childcare service that is provided by the government offered during standard work hours would encourage parents to return to work after having a child and would provide the support they need to be both a mother and an employee. We also believe in increasing maternity and paternity leave ns to be effective a change in mentality and societal expectations is required. The care of children does not need to always fall on the female. Finally, introducing longer paternity leave, making it more available, and encouraging fathers to take it can also help reduce the burden on women.Regulations that protect parents working part time and their right to flexible hours, as well as increasing the availability of flexible work, would also make it easier for parents to work and parent.TRADITIONTradition is a very complex and old problem, and it can't be touched easily. Religion of the past has continued to the present day. it led to the establishment of a male-dominated society, and this problem exists in countless countries. these explanations are the example of the problems in each country. In Indonesia, the common norm is that men become the backbone for their family while the women stay behind and take care of their children. This EXCELSIOR vol.2126
