Next came the tricky part, drinking the matcha tea in a correct manner. The tea ceremony experience gave me an understanding that serving tea is an art for the Japanese people and simply a moment of purity. Japan is magical for me as it is rich in heritage and tradition, yet buoyed forward by technology and economic development. 2019年CHUO 国際教育フォーラムは心に残る経験でした。毎日新しい目をみはるような体験をしました。盛岡はそれ自体が美しい人たちが住む美しい街です。日本人の謙虚さなどについてはよく耳にしていましたが、実際日本に滞在したことで得た経験は全く別のものでした。私は日本の文化と日本人について多くのことを学びました。 ここで紹介したい最も心に残る体験の一つは、茶道です。最初に私たちは、床の上に正しく座るように言われました。長く座っていることは難しいことでした。それから、着物を着た少女がかわいい形をした餅を私たちに配ってくれました。私が驚いたことは、私たちそれぞれが、異なる人によって、お茶を供され、供される度にお辞儀をしました。 そして、お茶をたてることが始まりました。着物を着た優雅な女性が正確なやり方で、それには、抹茶を茶碗にいれて、とても繊細な木製の茶筅でかき回すということも含められるのですが、お茶をたてました。次に、この抹茶を正しく飲むのですが、それはなかなか容易なことではありませんでした。 この茶道体験を通して、私は、お茶を供するということは日本人にとってアートであり、純粋な一時であるのだということを理解しました。日本は豊かな古い伝統と遺産のある一方で、技術と経済発展を推し進める魔法のような場所です。Recently, we visited our sister school, which is Morioka Chuo High School, located in Morioka, the northern region of Japan. We attended Morioka Chuo’s International Forum which lasted for about a week. Although the forum only lasted for a week, we made lifelong friends and unforgettable memories. We are really grateful to all the teachers and friends who took part in organising this event. We would like to say thank you for your warm welcome and your amicable attitude. We will never forget the amazing memories that we have made throughout this forum. Throughout the seven days of our Morioka Chuo Forum, we have learnt a lot about the Japanese culture. Japanese are so friendly and hospitable. We would like to thank our host families as well who treated us with lots of care. Words truly cannot describe how wonderful this experience has been. Thank you for everything Morioka Chuo High School! We hope someday we will be able to reunite once again. 私たちの姉妹校である、日本の北部地方の盛岡市にある盛岡中央高校を訪問しました。一週間にわたる盛岡CHUO国際教育フォーラムに参加しました。 フォーラムはたった一週間だけでしたが私たちは生涯の友達を得、忘れられない思い出を作りました。フォーラムを運営してくれたすべての教職員と生徒の皆さんに感謝しています。温かい歓迎と、友情に感謝しています。フォーラムを通して得られた素晴らしい思い出を忘れることはないでしょう。 フォーラムの７日間を通して、私たちは日本の文化について多くを学びました。日本の人々は、友好的にもてなしてくれました。よくお世話をしてくれたホストファミリーの皆さんにもお礼を言います。言葉ではこの素晴らしい体験を言い表すことはできません。盛岡中央高校に本当に感謝しています。そして、いつの日か、再びお会いできますように。Otumoetai College’s four Head Students and Mrs Jude Brown attended the 21st International Youth Forum in Morioka. It was attended by 19 countries. The theme for the Forum "Think globally and act locally" resonated with all and it certainly drew the students together.
