able to understand what it was like living in various areas of Iwate Prefecture in Japan, understanding more about food, language, culture and transport in the form of the JR train lines and local Morioka line. Not only were we able to learn more about the Japanese people, we were able to form a lasting bond with our host families, with the week spent together enabling us to better understand our hosts and create a special connection between people of countries miles apart. Overall, this experience was truly an enriching and unforgettable one which I would strongly recommend to anyone as it is an extraordinary opportunity. フォーラムは私と私の仲間にとって忘れられない思い出となりました。ホームステイ、岩手フードバンク訪問、子供の貧困と高齢化社会についての討論 ―現在の世界において重要視されている根本的な問題― 茶道への参加などなど盛りだくさんのことを楽しみました。異なる国から来た仲間との交流は正に、忘れられない体験でした。最も意義深い体験はホームステイでした。日本の岩手県のいろいろな地域に住むことがどういったことであるか、食べ物、言葉、文化そして、盛岡のJRのローカル線という交通機関のことについて学びました。日本の人たちについてより深く知るだけでなく、ホストファミリーと長く続くであろう絆を築くことができました。一週間一緒に過ごすことによって、ホストの人たちをより深く理解し、離れた国から来た私たちの間に特別な結びつきが生まれました。総体的にこの体験は真に密度の濃い、忘れがたいものでした。私は、この素晴らしい機会を他の誰にでも紹介し、薦めたいと思います。Taking part in Morioka Chuo International Forum gave me a great experience. What impressed me the most was teachers and students from Japan, South Korea, China, and Taiwan who worked hand in hand and deepened their friendships despite the recent political tensions between these countries. One of the two South Korean teachers clearly stated at the opening ceremony that the recent political disputes between South Korea and Japan could not prevent them from attending the forum.Furthermore, when a Chinese teacher had trouble delivering his speech in English at the welcome party, a Taiwanese teacher interpreted for him.In the final event of the forum, students participating from various countries did great presentations on global issues such as aging societies, women's empowerment, and child poverty. Even though they did not have enough time to prepare for the presentation, they succeeded in articulating their thoughts through group works and discussion.Following the presentation, the students showcased various performances such as traditional dance, martial arts, skits and then all of them gathered together on the stage, performing the Maori ceremonial haka dance at the end.These events demonstrated how education can offer children a hope in spite of international political tensions. 盛岡CHUOフォーラムに参加することは、素晴らしい体験でした。一番印象に残ったことは、日本、韓国、中国、そして台湾の教員と生徒が昨今の政治的な緊張関係にもかかわらず、協力し合い、友情を深めたことです。韓国から来た教員の一人は、開会式で、韓国と日本の外交問題は、彼らのフォーラムへの参加の妨げることはできなかったと、はっきりと発言しました。 フォーラムの最後の行事で、世界中から参加した生徒は、高齢化社会、女性のエンパワーメント、子供の貧困などの世界的な問題について素晴らしい発表をしました。発表の準備のために十分な時間がなかったにもかかわらず、生徒たちは、グループ内での話し合いや作業を通して、彼らの考えを明確にすることができました。発表に続いて、生徒たちは、伝統的な舞踊や、武芸、スキットなどを披露してくれました。そして最後に全員がステージに登場して、マオリの儀礼である、ハカのダンスを一緒に踊りました。これらのことは、教育が国際政治の緊張にかかわらず、いかに子供たちに希望を与えるものかを物語っています。Okinawa Shogaku High School沖縄尚学高等学校Japan日本Offering a hope to children子供たちに希望を与えることChota TakamineEnglish TeacherEXCELSIOR vol.2147
