0.English -introduceI went to Davidson high school in Sydney for a year. There were two purposes I wanted to achieve through my overseas study. One is to learn the culture of Australia. I have some interest in foreign cultures and I would like to experience the cultures of many countries. The second purpose is to have clear ideas of what I want to do in the future through studying abroad.Today, I am going to talk about my experience in Sydney.1.cultureWhen I actually lived in Australia, I was surprised that many people ate healthier food than I had expected. For example, my host family is very concerned about nutritional balance and often has vegetables at dinner. In addition, there are many people who live a healthy life, and there are many people who regularly go to the gym. There are gyms everywhere in Australia, similar to convenience stores in Japan. Many people are running when walking outside. At 5:00 in the evening, most of shops close and everyone returns home. When living in Australia, I had a very healthy life. For example I slept at 9:00pm and got up at 6:00am. Most Australians get up early in the morning. The most surprising thing about Australian culture is how they use water. In Australia, it seldom rains, so it suffers from a lack of water all year round. For this reason, I could only take a shower for 5 minutes a day, and when washing dishes, it dries without being rinsed. I was very resistant to these changes at rst and it took a few days to get used to it.2. Purpose of study abroad, and my EnglishThe reason why I talked about Australian culture this way was also one of the goals I wanted to learn while studying abroad. Originally, I was interested in cultural differences and intercultural exchange. By entering a study abroad course at Chuo High School and studying abroad for one year, I wanted to get to know the cultural differences that are known only when I stay abroad for a long time. Also, through this study abroad, I wanted to broaden my horizons and be able to think specifically about my future dreams and goals.Once I decided to go to Morioka Chuo high school, I could be more responsible for my actions than before, and I thought I could gain a little self-confidence by working aggressively in regular classes for studying abroad. I worked with awareness. However, I was nervous about English, and I was optimistic that I would do something if I went to study abroad. When I actually went to study abroad, I noticed that I couldn't do anything without English. What I wanted to say in my daily life, such as going to school in the morning to greet and talk with my local friends, talking to a teacher in class, making a presentation and talking about what happened with my host today. Even though there were things I wanted to say, I did not know how to say it in English and I was very disappointed because I could not convey my feelings accurately. At the beginning, I was really tired of listening to English, then I still felt tired even after sleepAbout half a year after studying abroad, I got accustomed to listening in English, but still struggled to convey my feelings accurately in English. As a result, when speaking in English, I began to use metaphors, and used many gestures in addition to words. Also, at schools, I couldn't 1-year Study Abroad ProgramTo take a close look at different cultures and cultivate global standards and self-reliance.1年間留学プログラム〜オーストラリア シドニー・アデレード〜 異文化に触れ、グローバルスタンダードの習得と自立心を養うMy experiencein SydneyChisatoMaekawa前川 千怜2年A2R組私のシドニー体験EXCELSIOR vol.2180
