Actually quite many people could not eat for few days. So I want to feel what they feel and think about what I can do. Finally I collected $100.Before I left Japan, Mr Chiba ( Top of MORIOKA CHUO high school) said 「studying English is important but leaning something in English and do something in English is more important」I was impressed with him. While doing the 40 hour famine some Japanese students said 「Eat something! Who knows」 「Who appreciates you?」or some negative things to me. I almost gave up but my host family encouraged me.One day some Japanese students came to my house and they were eating lunch. I felt sad. I really wanted to eat with them, but I did not want to give up because my host family, friends, and teachers were cheering me on.I felt like it was such a long time but how about the people who live in developing countries. Their famine is not only 40 hours. This encouraged me to help them and make good experiences to do something in English. This activity is a little known activity in Japan. I plan to tell many people about this activity.3. Host family changeI changed host families about 3 month into the studyabroad. Before that I did not have enough time to speak English. My English skills did not improve. I tried many things that I could do. But it did not work. I felt powerless and alone. But after that I changed my mind and behavior. I could try many things I wanted to do. This is because my new host family helped me find something I am interested in and always encouraged me. I want to continue chasing my dreams.4. Table tennisI played table tennis in New Zealand. We had practice once a week. Everyone enjoyed playing and they told me what is going on.We had competitions and I got three medals. My table tennis partner said 「thank you for playing table tennis with me」and every one said 「we are proud of you」 I made really good friends and I had a good opportunity.5. Important things to make a best friendI have a best friend in New Zealand. Her name is Linh from Vietnam and she is the same age as me. We had almost all same classes. We were in our rst year in school. One day we had science class and I did not understand English. Then she said 「she does not speak English」to teacher. I got grumpy and tried to say something to her but English did not come out.So I decided to study harder. My host family helped me study English. A few weeks after I said what I want to say to her. After that we became best friends. We hung out to everywhere we wanted to go. I have friend not international students as friends who are.I had a really good experience in New Zealand. As a result my interested in developing counties grew. They told me that no matter where someone grew up, we have the power to change the world and help people. My experience in New Zealand forced me to look at the world through a new lens and inspired me to act for the happiness of others. I really appreciate everyone.Thank you for reading.Hi, everyone my name is The courage totake a stepYurikaTatesawa舘澤友利華2年A2R組一歩前に踏み出す勇気EXCELSIOR vol.2185
